1- Qsep1 Portable DNA Analyzer : Qsep1 is a revolutionary new capillary gel electrophoresis based instrument designed to replace the traditional labor intensive gel electrophoresis processes. It is a portable and cost-effective CGE system.
The new system will be commercialized in first quarter of 2016. The system will be about 15x15x20cm in dimensions, and weighted about 5 kg.
- The Qsep100 system is on the basis of capillary gel electrophoresis (CGE) technology providing post PCR separation and detection of DNA fragments. The system is comprised of the Detection Engine (LED-Induced Fluorescence), Analysis Engine, the Sample Loader and the Disposable Pen-Shaped Gel-Cartridge. The pen-shaped gel-electrophoresis cartridge can perform 200 tests at 1-7 minutes per sample run. Novel reagent packaging and intuitive software provides ease of operation, automated tracking of consumables and overall management of the genotyping system.The Q-Analyzer software allows for easy interface and analysis.
- New Feature: The Qsep100 system can not only do the DNA/RNA tests, but
also do the protein analysis now. Just using the protein labeling kit to prepare your sample and you will be able to enjoy the new feature.
- Qsep400 DNA Analyzer
Qsep400 is high-throughput CGE system that utilizes BiOptic’s patented fluorescence detection using multiple pen-shaped gel-cartridges. The Qsep400 can accommodate 4-cartridges increasing the throughput by 4X. The new Qsep400 system will be equiped with dual light sources and be able to detect up to 4 dyes and has an integrated temperature control system. Time to the market will be around 2nd quarter of 2016.
- GL1000 Glycan Analyzer
In contrast to proteins and peptides, glycans do not absorb ultraviolet (UV) light strongly, thereby giving a weak detector signal, even at 214 nm. Furthermore, as glycans with various different structures may be present in minute amounts in glycoprotein hydrolysates, their detection by UV absorbance may not be practical. As a result a wide range of alternative techniques have been developed for the detection of glycans.
Once the glycans have been released from the glycoprotein, the glycan pool can be analyzed by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry or, after fluorescent labeling, by either HPLC or MS, or both. This strategy can provide a “glycan profile” or a “glycosylation pattern” that is highly characteristic of the glycoprotein. The technology can be applied to compare glycan profiles of glycoproteins found in normal and diseased states, or to compare different batches of recombinant protein products. Both these techniques provide valuable information in terms of composition, linkage and arm specificity.
Electrophoresis of Glycans
Separation of glycans by electrophoresis in polyacrylamide gel has been widely used and different methods are described in the literature for analysis of monosaccharides and oligosaccharides. The most commonly used system is the electrophoresis of fluorophore-labeled glycans in highly cross-linked polyacrylamide gels and is termed as Fluorophore-Assisted Carbohydrate Electrophoresis (FACE).
BiOptic’s GL1000 provides an innovative solution for profiling of glycans released from glycoproteins and to elucidate the structure of individual glycans, based on the Capillary Gel Electrophoresis (CGE) technology.
